Illamasqua Sealing Gel-Review, swatches & photos

I had been often thinking about something like Illamasqua sealing gel which can make my favorite eye shadows as eyeliner and after using this gel I can use my favorite powder eyeshadow and pigments as eyeliner very easily. It's an exciting activity which gives a change to my makeup routine. Today a short review of this sealing gel.

Illamasqua Sealing Gel

The Sealing Gel is a product which you can use to convert your powder shadows or pigments into liquid. It's a smallest part of Illamasqua's Human Fundamentalist collection.

In the mirror of  my own experience

I love to use my most favorite eye shadows on my eyes as an eyeliner. In this way, we can give some new way to our makeup look. When I tried it first, that was really an exciting experiment and the result was just amazing. The effect which I got, was fantastic, I'll show you how it happened but first one quick view of its packaging.

Packaging

Illamasqua Sealing Gel comes in a tiny small black bottle with same color lid. The packaging is good and can be carried out in the purse very easily. After opening the lid, you can drop the liquid direct onto your shadows/pigments.

The way of using

At first I tried this sealing gel with my favorite RBR pigment. I took out some amount of the pigment in RBR pigment's cap and then dropped just two drop of the sealing gel into the pigment, mixed it with my eyeliner brush and then applied it on my hand, first as shadow then as eyeliner. After this trial, I used it with some other favorite eye shadows and always loved the result. You can use it as a creamy eyeshadow base , liner or you can even apply it alone on your entire lid and trust me you'll love its effect in every way.

Then dropped two drop of gel into the pigment, Mixed with an eyeliner brush and done!!

Effect

I really love the effect I got after using this gel with my different favorite eye shadows and pigments. This tiny bottle has opened a door to experiment with lot of eye shadows and getting different eye makeup looks.You can see how beautiful the eyeshadow looks with sealing gel , you can apply different colorful eyeliners everyday with this gel.

Lasting power

I applied my Sleek Makeup eye shadow as a liner on my eyes using this sealing gel recently in a party and it lasted almost 6-7 hours without fading.The Sealing gel does make the eye shadows waterproof but  if you rub it with fingers, it will start to fade,but otherwise you'll require a good eye makeup remover to wipe it off completely.

Good points

Cute small packaging.

Very easy to use.

The quantity is too less but you just need two or three drops to intensify the eye shadow.

It's water proof and I didn't find my liner smudging or smearing.

This sealing gel opens doors for so many looks and experiments with your eyes.

 

Bad points

This is a wonder product, but no doubt,very expensive.

Not available in India.

 

Finally...

I'm very happy with this wonderful product. I love to apply different color eyeliners on my eyes these days so now it has become very easy with this product. The only disappointing part is its cost which is too high to see the quantity. So It'll be difficult to afford by every makeup lover. But overall, I want to appreciate Illamasqua to launch a wonderful product that can do some amazing work.

Recommendation 

It's costly but if you can afford it and love to do different experiments with your eye makeup, you should definitely try it out.

Illamasqua Powder eyeshadow- review, swatches & EOTD

I'd been searching for a brown eye shadow since a long time. Hey I know that you would be surprised to think as to why I was bothering to search for a common shade like brown. Isn’t it? But trust me, I have a lot of brown shades in my eye shadow collection but I wanted a different type of brown…a brown which I can apply with all my outfits especially white and black and which can justify with all my jeans colors. I think I’m making you a bit confused, but what can I do because some times it seems that I’m myself am  a bit confused with my eye shadows. Anyways I’ll finish all the confusion and tell you the truth, I wanted a brown shade matte eye shadow which can be used with many dresses and can give a natural effect. In my opinion a brown shade is most effective shade to get a complete natural look.

It’s a coincidence that I found this color recently not just once but twice. First it was with Too Faced Dream Edition palette and the other is the Illamasqua Matte powder  Eye Shadow
 Vernau from Illamasqua’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection- Human Fundametalism. Both are almost similar to each other and are exactly the brown that I wanted since a long time.

Vernau

It’s a taint fawn brown shade which is excellent for blending out alone on the lids and for getting a lovely natural effect. It can be applied with a black eye shadow to get a smokey eye look.

How to use

Use a long bristle brush for blending and a shorter bristle brush for precise colour placement. Mix Powder Eye Shadow with Sealing Gel for colour-intensification, and apply with an Angled Eye Liner Brush for unlimited eye liner opportunities. They can also double up as blushers or contours, whilst shimmer textures can be used as a highlighter on the eyes, face and body.

In the mirror of my own experience

It's my first chance to use this brand, I had heard a lot about it but the final opinion always comes after one's own experience. Every experience gives you a new excitement, some times with lot of happiness and a bit disappointment too. My experience with Illamasqua was very nice and lovely.

Packaging

Illamasqua eye shadows come in an exclusive packaging with black shining curved edges and a transparent lid with the brand logo marked on it. The shade can be seen without opening the box. It does not come with an applicator or a mirror.

Overall I love its packaging because it looks elegant at the first look. It so light weight so very easy to keep in my handbag. I also love the fact that I can see the shade from outside. But I think its so inconvenient for application point as there is no mirror or applicator is provided with the packaging. I can ignore the applicator easily because I hardly use it but mirror should be must with the box.

Texture

I love its texture because it’s soft and silky smooth. On seeing it, I hadn't expected such smooth texture. But after touching just one swipe I was blissfully delighted because as you know that texture of a shadow plays a major role in its quality and when I applied it on my lids I can say that it’s not super creamy as RBR or Sleek Makeup eye shadow but I really enjoyed while applying it on my eyes.

Pigmentation

The pigmentation is as perfect as I wanted with this brown, I can’t say it super duper pigmented but can say it well pigmented because just one swipe of the color shows on the lids properly. As you know I wanted a brown shade which can give me a natural effect and it’s just perfect for it. So in my point of view it’s an ideal brown shade.

Application

As I have written that it’s not super pigmented so at a first application they do not come up super strong but still, strong enough to be seen, the second and third application makes it completely beautiful. It’s so buildable that blending becomes natural, and give you an effect which I want. It blends well with a simple eye brush and you can get look which you want.

Effect

The effect which I get after applying it is really very pretty. It’s a color which can be applied in many ways. If you applied just one or two swipes and blend it, the effect will be so natural and as innocent that it’ll seem you have applied nothing on your lids and your eyes are entirely natural. But if you applied 4/5 swipe and mixes it with black shadow, the effect which comes will be quite glamorous. It can be used with other shades like cream and blue to find a different look. For smokey looks it’s an ideal color along with a black eye shadow. So it’s quite a versatile  shadow.

Lasting power

I love its long-lasting power. I can apply it without primer and it lasts about for 5 to 6 hours easily. I never faced any creasing problem with it. With a good primer it can last almost whole day which is really very effective.

Good points

Very elegant packaging.
Soft, silky texture.
Beautiful matte brown versatile shade.
Practically pigmented.
Blends well.
very buildable.
Great staying power.
It doesn’t crease on my lids even without a primer.

Bad points

There is no mirror and applicator provided with the packaging.
Slight fall out is experienced.

A bit expensive for a single eye shadow.
Only available online which makes it more expensive.

Finally...

Over all I love this shadow, the shade and the quality is impressive and great & so you can ignore some bad points of this product. The effect you get after using it makes your eyes look blissful. I'm really very happy with my experience with this product and I would love to try out some more shades of their eyeshadows!

Egyptian Girl inspired makeup look- FOTD

 I always love to do different experiments with my makeup and looks. You have seen my makeup many looks inspired from different things, sometimes from nature and sometimes from makeup artists. Illamasqua's looks have always been a great inspiration for me!  Today, I have tried another makeup look from Illamasqua's Human collection makeup looks. This is an awkward look and quite difficult to do but it attracted me a lot so I decided to give it a try. I didn't copy the same, I was just inspired from this look, because I wanted to do something differnt with my eye makeup, especially with the liner part so this is what I've done! The rest of the makeup is the same as the model's. I really love Illamasqua's unique and beautiful makeup looks. I hope my readers will enjoy with this look.

Illamasqua Nail varnish- Stance (Review, NOTD)

Illamasqua recently launched it's Human Fundamentalist collection which became a big hit among most of the bloggers! 

I'm also loving some pieces from this collection & today i would like to review it's Nail varnish in Stance! 

I've been a great fan of their nail varnishes! This shade is really amazing! It shows up according to the lighling around, sometimes magenta, sometimes violet with a tinge of fuchsia in it! Isn't that great?

This won't be a detailed review that I usually post but a short one focusing more on the NOTD!

In the mirror of my own experience

First of all I would like to talk about the packaging.....one of the attractive features is it's packaging which is very beautiful with the outer carton & the shape of the bottle!! Then comes the texture which is also very impressive. The varnish is slightly thin & 2-3 coats are a must to get the perfect shade. After is dries up it gives a gorgeous glossy finish to the nails! The shade as I've mentioned above it very difficult to capture in the lens, it shows slight changes in accordance with the lighting. But all in all it's amazing! The shade is unique & hard to get in general. So if you can get hold of this, it's a must have in every nail polish lovers collection!  Another great thing about it is that it dries very quickly giving a glossy, matte finish.

Although I'm not much of a nail polish person, yet I'm loving this & would like to wear it again & again!
