You all know well how madly I love red lip colors. I have a big collection of red lipsticks in my makeup drawers. They all are red but of different textures and brands. Some of them are my favorites but I love each lipstick because each one has its own unique qualities. A new one got added in this collection recently. This is NYX Matte Lipstick in Pure Red. I have always been a big fan of NYX lipsticks, having tried some NYX Round lipsticks earlier. A pure matte lipstick from NYX Cosmetics was on my wishlist & I was so glad to get hold of this shade when NYX products were launched in India last month. My today's review is of this new beauty.

NYX Mat Lipsticks are packed in a black bullet case that are retractable. All the details and the names of the shade are mentioned on the case. A transparent band in the center of the bullet indicates the shade of the lipstick. I love the packaging and the band idea makes the shade selection very easy.

The texture of this lipstick is completely matte. The shade Pure Red is an extremely beautiful red with orange undertone. The shade is warm toned and perfect for all skin tones.

The pigmentation is great, you get the the full opacity even in single swipe. The best part of this lipstick is that it glides on the lips like a creamy texture lipstick but after a few seconds, you achieve a gorgeous matte finish from it.

I always use a similar shade lip liner with a red lipstick as it makes the application easy and flawless. It spreads on the lips so evenly and smoothly. I don't need to apply a lip balm before the application like other matte texture lipsticks. But yes, I'll suggest applying a lip balm underneath if your lips are very dry and chapped to get a perfect finish.

It has a strong staying power and lasts for about 6-7 hours with meals and drinks. It never leaves a patchy effect on the lips even after fading.

Finally, I'm totally impressed with this stunning lipstick. It has everything that one desires from a high quality lipstick. From packaging to texture, it is incredible. The shade is ideal for brightening a dull looking face.The affordable price is like a cherry on the top. I'm excited to try some more shades from this range. HIGHLY recommended.
