Maybelline NY Colossal Kohl (Crushed Emerald)- review, swatch

Maybelline Colossal kajal is a must have product for all women. This kajal has been a champion product not only in India but all over the world. Recently they launched some new colours in Colossal kajal range. After the turquoise shade,( review HERE ) this time they came up with three new colours. These are Crush Emerald, Smoked Silver and Jeweled Jade.

I was sent the shade Crushed Emerald which is dark green in colour. Today I’m here with my experience with this new beauty.

Packaging

The packaging is similar to all other Maybelline Colossel kohls. It’s  yellow in color with a green strip to indicate the colour. It’s retractable eyeliner so you can easily hold it around.

Shade

Maybelline Colossal Crushed Emerald is a lovely forest green shade with slight shimmers. The shade has a black undertone because after applying it looks blackish green on the skin.

Texture and pigmentation

The texture of this eyeliner is soft and silky. It doesn't tug at all. It glides on smoothly and gives an accurate line. The pigmentation is not as good as the black one. (Review HERE) I have to swipe  it at least 3 to 4 times to get  a perfect color.

Application & Effect

The application of this liner is smooth and soft. I can apply it on my upper eyelids and in waterlines. Though I have to swipe several times to get right color due to average intensity especially in my waterlines. But still when I get the desired color, I love the effect of this liner on my eyes. It gives an instant brightness to the eyes. I think it'll be a great  option for the collage going girls who are bored of wearing  black kohl. If you wear spectacle, this shade will show clearly out on your eyes. 

Lasting power

It lasts for 5 to 6 hours in my eyes. It's totally waterproof  and smudge proof. Though it starts fading and smudging after 6 hours but I can't blame it because my eyes are super watery and to see their nature the 6 hours staying power is really good for me. I remove it with olive oil. You can use an eye makeup remover or baby oil too.

Finally...

Finally, I'm happy with this liner. The shade is very beautiful and can be worn anytime. The quality is great but I wish the pigmentation would have been better but over all I love this new shade and want to buy the two other especially the blue one. If you get bored of your black kohls, it's time to play with the colourful Colossal kohls! You'll love the effect of this liner on your eyes.
