As the weather is getting colder, the golden sun rays are beginning to attract. We will be looking forward to enjoying the sunlight every moment but with Illamasqua's brand new Radiance Veil we can add these rays in our lives throughout the year even on darker days.

 Illamasqua has completed their trilogy of priming veils with the Radiance veil. Their Hydra veil and Matte veil have been popular primers for quite a while now. Though I haven't used those two but have been lucky enough to try the radiance one just when I wanted to add some glow in my life.

How to use
Prior to foundation application, use the spoon provided to apply one scoop of Radiance Veil to the palm of your hand. Using the Highlighter Brush, gently brush the product from your hand and apply all over the face, in small swirling motions. Focus on the highest points of the face and buff until the product is fully absorbed.

Radiance Veil can also be mixed with liquid foundation prior to application to customise to a radiant luminous finish.

Illamasqua Radiance Veil comes in a black outer box with the brand name and other details. Inside the box, we get a shiny, round black bowl-shaped jar with a similar color lid. The holographic image on the lid symbolises the effect of the glow. When we open the lid, we find a tiny spatula attached to the inner lid. You can use the small spatula to scoop out a tiny amount onto the palm of your hand. Then apply it all over your face. The packaging is beautiful, classy and attractive, you want to see it on your dressing table again and again. The only down part of the packaging is that it could get a bit messy especially during travelling.

Texture

It's soft peach golden in color. The texture is a bit thick quite similar to a whipped cream. Illamasqua Radiance Veil is not an illuminator, it's a mixture of primer/illuminator that gives the skin a pearly golden touch.

After using Illamasqua Radiance Veil, I realized that it can be used in different ways. At first I applied it alone on my face and neck just after applying my moisturizer. I took less than a pea sized amount with the spatula on the back of my hand and applied it with my fingers in dots all over my face and neck and then blended with my finger as I blend my moisturiser. I noticed a pearly finish and a healthy glow on my face that I loved. My face was not looking shimmery and shiny at all but a got a luminous finish with it.In a second way, I mixed it with my Rouge Bunny Rouge foundation and applied it normally like any other foundation. I found that it gives a gorgeous glow to my face. It can boost dull complexion significantly. Illamasqua Radiance Veil can also be used as a highlighter and illuminator over makeup and I found that it works wonderfully whenever used in that manner. It does wonders with your skin, doesn't matter in which way you have used it. It doesn't feel greasy or moisturising so would be perfect for all skin tones even oily ones. As it has a soft peach tone, it can be used by anyone from a really pale skin to really deep skin tones. Something that you have to remember before using is - mix a tiny amount of the product with your foundation. The Radiance veil not only primes the face for foundation but also offers a long lasting hold for a full day of makeup wear. It also adds a radiant glow to the face.Though it dries out pretty quickly, you need to blend it well because if not rightly blended it can collect in an area and be tricky to blend. You can use a damp brush to blend it evenly. In addition to illuminating pearl pigments and Vitamin C, Illamasqua Radiance Veil also contains Acmella Oleracea extract, which is known for its instant smoothing effect and ability to boost skin’s elasticity and radiance so over time you should be able to see some sort of difference in the texture and look of your skin.

I guess it I blended it quite a lot which is why the light shimmers are not properly visible

The packaging is not very travel-friendly

Finally...

Do I need to say how impressed I am with this product? Without providing too much shimmer or glitz, the Veil gives a natural and lit-within finish. Due to its moisturising yet non-oily consistency, this product works well for many skin types and for those who aim to create a radiant yet refined finish. After being used in all different ways, the product proved itself to be a winner. No doubt it can become a secret weapon for those who want a flawless makeup look with a radiance glow.

I also love that Illamasqua is now actively combining skincare elements into their makeup products also containing Vitamin E which is added to improve the skin’s level of hydration.
