How to wear a dress as a skirt

It's pretty simple to style any clothing for the first time but challenging enough when it comes to styling them again and again. There are lots of pieces in our closet that we love wearing every now & then. In this world of selfies, social media etc women often avoid wearing the same dress or clothing in a similar way more than once. I am no exception. But gradually, I'm learning the art of recycling clothes by styling them differently each time. The easiest way is to change the accessories like the shoes, bag etc.

Styling an oversized floral top/dress- OOTD

As mid-August passes by, we all know that autumn is not too far away. So while I am eagerly looking forward to it, I would like to share my latest OOTD with you all which has the essence of Autumn in it (and something of spring/summer as well).

A couple of days back I decided to put on this beautiful oversized top from Dresslink. It's a fabulous piece owing to the lovely roses printed on it and the amazing material quality of the cloth.

Oversized tops/dresses are highly versatile. They can be styled in a number of ways like for those who wear mini lengths, can simply put this on as a dress (oh by the way, the store calls it a dress) Others can pair it with denims for a smart street style look and I decided to pair it with my favorite closet piece- a pencil skirt!

Orchid & Black | How to style a pencil skirt

It's been raining heavily throughout the week which has made it really difficult to click any pics for OOTDs. But no worries, I have a few pending ones for such days. Today's OOTD is a simple, casual one but can be styled for work, a day or an evening out. 

In this I have paired my favourite closet piece i.e a pencil skirt with an orchid blouse. I bought this a few months back but hadn't got a chance to style it. It is a wonderful blouse with beautiful blue details such as a tie belt. It also has a hood (pretty unique). I personally love this shade of purple for it lies somewhere between pink and purple, adding a pop of colour to this outfit. 

Nautical...yet again- SS OOTD

A nautical-inspired couture is a timeless trend! One can easily pull it off in any season as you may have noticed right here how I've been giving my looks a nautical touch every now and then.

Today's OOTD has something more than just a touch of nautical in it. Not so sailor-like but a couple of days back I pulled out my new striped top from Mango and paired it with a gorgeous red pencil skirt from StalkBuyLove! It's a perfect ladylike pencil skirt which every woman must have in her closet.
I accessorized my look with a bright yellow sling bag and golden jewellery pieces. A black hat and black heels completed my outfit!

Simplicity and Elegance (how synonymous are they)- OOTD

Just keep these few words in your mind while dressing up and you'll never fail to impress! Ever since I've entered the world of fashion blogging, an attempt to bring in elegance and simplicity in my looks has been my first priority. And of course, with so many fashion icons around the world, this hasn't been too tough a task! 

But then, a few edgy and sassy pieces now and then won't hurt anyway (I know, I'm sounding very paradoxical now)

So let's just come on to today's OOTD which is nothing but a simple classy combination of white knit and emerald green pencil skirt. (I'm so much into green this winter) 

We are still getting the chills out here but it feels much more like spring now so this kind of outfit will be perfect for a day out. It's more of a semi formal look that you can readily put on for a workplace as well!

I really love the side zip detail in this skirt. It's very comfortable, reasonably priced without compromising on the quality, that's what I love about StyleMoi!
The sweater is a light one, suitable for the weather these days but in winters you will obviously have to layer it with a nice warm coat. The heart design gives it a very chic look, I would love to pair it with a pink tulle skirt for a beautiful romantic getup! 

Some neutral details like a pair of beige heels and pink bag were added to complete the look.

A sleek, bodycon, black pencil skirt is an all time closet essential! Surprisingly, this was something missing in my own wardrobe! But thanks to OASAP, I finally got hold of the perfect black pencil skirt! It's got a knitted texture, the perfect length & it kind of takes the shape of your body due to the elasticity. This bodycon skirt is available in so many beautiful colours like purple, pink, orange etc so you can choose from amongst those if you already own a black one!
